Why choose CoolGlide laser treatments over other hair removal methods?
As the latest laser technology for hair removal, the CoolGlide quickly treats larger areas without the restrictions older techniques require. The CoolGlide’s wavelength specificity now allows for treating both light and dark skin as well as tanned skin. The difference with other systems is that the CoolGlide can disable both the fine hair of a woman’s upper lip and the coarse hair on a man’s back. The handpiece actively cools the skin to make the procedure more comfortable and reduce skin reaction that is common with other types of lasers.

Pre-Treatment Advice
- On the same day of the treatment, it will be important to shave the area of the body where the hair is to be removed.
- One month before you plan to have laser treatment, stop removing hair with tweezers, an electric razor, electrolysis or any other method of hair removal.
- On the day of the laser treatment, do not wear dark underwear if you are having hair removed from the underarms, bikini or groin areas.
- For 48 hours before laser treatment, stay out of the sun; don't go for a tanning session or use self-tanning lotions for 4 weeks before and after each treatment.
- If your hair is fine, shave with a conventional razor for at least 4 weeks before the first laser treatment. In this way, the hair will be stimulated and strengthened so the laser will produce better results. If the hair is already coarse, you should remove hair by waxing 2 to 3 weeks before the first treatment. Il est primordial de raser, le jour même du traitement, la zone du corps qui sera épilée au laser.
Post-Treatment Advice
- Some light swelling and redness may appear on treated skin but these manifestations are not serious. The Association des électrolystes du Québec recommends simply letting the skin heal itself.
- Cool compresses help skin to quickly return to normal.
- A moisturiser or antibiotic cream may be recommended should any crusting develop.
- For the face: avoid using make-up and touching the skin with your hands.
- For underarms: do not use antiperspirant or soap for the next 24 hours.
- For the abdomen, groin, thighs, lower legs and breasts: avoid hot baths and showers as well as perfumed products for the next 24 hours.
- Under no circumstances should you expose treated skin to the sun, go for a tanning session or use self-tanning lotions either before or after a laser treatment.
- Generally speaking, you should avoid applying alcohol to laser treated areas.
- Additional laser treatments can be scheduled as new hairs grow or at fixed intervals of 6 to 12 weeks.
